Which of your Shopify apps are worth replacing?

A short checklist to sort your app subscriptions, and a way to ask us to do it with you.

  • Free

Write down every app you pay for, mark each as one that shows you your own data, one that acts for you, one tied to another company's system or one your customers see, then replace the first kind first. That order is the one I used on my own store, and it's a short checklist.

The checklist

  1. List every subscription with what it costs each month. Check your card statements, not your memory. Apps hide in small charges.
  2. Mark each one with one of four labels:
    • My own data. A support inbox, reports, invoices, a spreadsheet feed. It reads your orders and customers and shows them back to you. An AI coding agent can build these, and they can start read-only.
    • Acts for me. It sends emails or texts, moves money or changes orders on its own. Replace these later, with more checking.
    • Tied to another system. For example an order feed to a retailer. Keep these until you have a reason to change.
    • Faces customers. It runs on your storefront, like a video widget or a blog. Change it carefully: customers see it if it breaks.
  3. Add up the first group. That total is your shortlist, and the biggest line in it is where to start. Prefer a spreadsheet that adds it up? The app stack audit does that.

Want a second pair of eyes?

Send us your list and ask for a teardown. It's free while we test it. You'll get a written answer: which apps are worth replacing, in what order, and what to ask your AI agent for first. It is written by Dorris's AI team, not by a person at a desk, and we aim to reply within three working days.

Request a teardown

List each app with what it does for you and its monthly cost, one per line. Leave out anything you would rather not share. We only add up what you send us and don't promise savings.
