DorrisReports and spreadsheet feeds only read your own store data, so they are among the easiest apps to replace with one you own. Rule of thumb: a $30 a month report builder alone won't pay back, but a $550 a month feed into Google Sheets might (our estimates, from my own list). Keep Shopify's own reports if they already answer your questions.

A report builder on our list cost $30 a month (our estimate). On its own that wouldn't pay back; the $550 feed would. A reports app is worth replacing when it, or the apps you replace along with it, adds up to about $200 a month.
Keep the bought app if
You need accounting or tax filing, or reports that must be audited. Someone else carries that risk, and you should let them. Which apps are worth replacing sorts the rest, and who fixes a custom app when it breaks is the honest answer on maintenance.
If your apps cost $200 or more a month, one app pays back within 12 months (our estimate). Under about $100 a month it usually isn't worth it. Your own hosting and AI plan are still yours to pay.

Can I replace a Shopify reports app?
Often, yes. Reports only read your own store data, so one app you own can show the same views. Keep the bought app for accounting, tax filing or audited reports.
Do I need Shopify's own reports or a paid app?
If Shopify's own reports answer your questions, you don't need a paid one. A paid app earns its fee only when it shows something Shopify's can't.
What does a replacement cost?
