Host

A host is a company that runs your app on its computer, so the app keeps working when yours is switched off.

Also called: hosting, hosting service, the cloud, cloud server

You send it your code, and it keeps the app answering at an address, day and night, whether or not your laptop is open. The cloud is the same thing said vaguely.

You will meet one the day you deploy. Two things change once a host is involved. Your secrets move out of a file on your desk and into the host's own settings, and the copy up there starts empty: your code goes up, the data on your machine does not.

Something broke

I just did this: <what you clicked or typed, in a few words>
This is what I got: <paste the error here, or drag in a screenshot>

I don't know what it means. Work out what went wrong and fix it. Then tell me in one plain sentence what was wrong and what you changed, and stop.
