Production

Production is the copy of your app that real people actually use, with real data in it.

Also called: live, prod

It's the copy on the internet. The one running on your own machine is not production, however identical it looks, and that difference matters starting the day you deploy. A mistake on your own machine costs you ten minutes. The same mistake in production is something a customer can see.

The thing people get wrong is assuming their agent knows which one it's working on. It knows what you told it. Say which one, out loud, every time.

Something broke

I just did this: <what you clicked or typed, in a few words>
This is what I got: <paste the error here, or drag in a screenshot>

I don't know what it means. Work out what went wrong and fix it. Then tell me in one plain sentence what was wrong and what you changed, and stop.
