Query

A query is a question put to a database, and the saved question sitting behind every list and count on a screen.

Also called: a saved question, lookup

Unfulfilled orders from last week, messages nobody has answered yet: you ask the database, and it reads its own records and hands back the answer.

Every list and every count on a screen is one, saved and asked again each time you look. That's why a number beside a view is clickable, it came from the same question the list runs.

Worth knowing when a figure looks wrong: it's almost never a broken screen. It's a question that asked for something slightly different from what you meant.

Paste this first

Something broke

I just did this: <what you clicked or typed, in a few words>
This is what I got: <paste the error here, or drag in a screenshot>

I don't know what it means. Work out what went wrong and fix it. Then tell me in one plain sentence what was wrong and what you changed, and stop.
