Repository

A repository is the project folder that git is tracking: your code and notes, not your live data.

Also called: repo

Repo for short. Everything inside the folder git is watching is tracked: your code, your notes, your settings files. Everything outside it is not.

You'll meet the word the first time you put the starter on your machine, and every time something asks where your project lives.

The mistake is assuming the repo is the whole business. It holds files, not your database, not the values you deliberately keep out of it, and not work you haven't saved yet. A surprising amount of what matters lives outside those edges.

Something broke

I just did this: <what you clicked or typed, in a few words>
This is what I got: <paste the error here, or drag in a screenshot>

I don't know what it means. Work out what went wrong and fix it. Then tell me in one plain sentence what was wrong and what you changed, and stop.
