SaaS

SaaS is software you rent by the month instead of owning, which is how most business tools are sold.

Also called: software as a service, subscription software

SaaS stands for software as a service, and it means renting. You pay every month, the software sits on somebody else's computer, and you have it for exactly as long as you keep paying.

Most of what your business runs on is sold this way, and for plenty of it that's a fair deal, nobody should be building their own payment processing.

The word is in here because the whole argument of this course is about where that line falls: keep renting the hard, general things, and stop renting the small specific ones that only your business needs and nobody else will ever build properly.

Something broke

I just did this: <what you clicked or typed, in a few words>
This is what I got: <paste the error here, or drag in a screenshot>

I don't know what it means. Work out what went wrong and fix it. Then tell me in one plain sentence what was wrong and what you changed, and stop.
