Type check

A type check is an automatic read-through of your code that catches a whole category of mistakes before the app is ever run.

Also called: typecheck, the types

It reads your code without running it and complains when something doesn't add up: a date treated as a number, a value that might be missing used as though it never is.

You'll meet it as one of the two checks that run before anything goes live, alongside the tests.

There's nothing here for you to read. It passes, or it names a file and a line for your agent. The only part that's yours is the order: a failed check stops the shipping. An agent that gets past one by telling the code to ignore it has fixed nothing.

Something broke

I just did this: <what you clicked or typed, in a few words>
This is what I got: <paste the error here, or drag in a screenshot>

I don't know what it means. Work out what went wrong and fix it. Then tell me in one plain sentence what was wrong and what you changed, and stop.
