Port

A port is a numbered door on a computer: a program waits at one number so other programs know where to knock.

A port is a numbered door on your computer: a program waits at one number so other programs know where to knock. That's why an app running on your own machine has an address with a colon and a number on the end.

You'll meet ports when you start the app, and again if you start it twice. "Port already in use" almost never means something is broken, it usually means the app is already running in another window. Close that window, or open the localhost address you already have, before you let an agent start changing things.

Something broke

I just did this: <what you clicked or typed, in a few words>
This is what I got: <paste the error here, or drag in a screenshot>

I don't know what it means. Work out what went wrong and fix it. Then tell me in one plain sentence what was wrong and what you changed, and stop.
